The biggest deal with sale videos is keeping it short, always under 3 minutes, aim for two. In the first 10 seconds, you should show confirmation shots of the front, back, and profile. Make it clean, have the horse bridled but with no other tack. The next 45 seconds should show walk trot and canter, and at least one jump or jumping line. Use another 25 seconds to show walk and halt into canter transitions, and flying lead changes if he has them. The rest of the video is up to you. I would like to see a leg yield, and turns on the forehand and haunches personally, other than that, do what you think is best. It might be nice to end with a short shot of him playing in a pasture, or a cute picture of him being friendly.
Always go for clean and professional. Use music that highlights your horse's abilities, but doesn't not distract or overbear. No lyrics, or minimal lyrics is best. Bathe your horse the day before, use clean tack, wear a helmet and tuck in your shirt. Make sure you are shooting in a well lit area with no junk lying around.
Think of this video as a "teaser." It will show them what they are in for, and the basics of what you are selling. If the person is interested by this, provide them links showing a "personality" video, a full jumping course or two, and whatever else you think shows off your horse well.
I am looking for some good what to do and what not to do videos, I'll get back to you!
Ok I like this video a lot, it doesn't have music, it is a bit long, and it's not particularly artistic, but it is clean and gets the point across.

Details about use of computer:
I'm a high school student, so the main use for my computer would be word processing, powerpoint type presentations, internet research and instant messaging (MSN). I don't really do any gaming, only Sims 3 once in a while and sometimes I enjoy the benefits of free 14 day trials of certain games. I'd like a computer that's fast and won't stop working on me after 6 months. I've heard good things about both computers, the only problem with mac that is bothering me is the no Windows Live Messenger (that I love, I know things like aMSN are available but...blah) and the high price. I love iWork and how it seems to be better than Microsoft Word 2007 which is one of the reasons I am debating for a mac. I am an amateur in producing videos but I enjoy doing it and if I had a good program I'd do it often. I've always had PCs and I don't really mind them, I have a Dell Inspiron (with Vista) right now but it's starting to die on me.
I know that's a lot but which computer should I buy and why? | I'll skip the part about how does a high-school student afford a computer like that?? ;-)
Macs are great. Macs are sexy. But, boy, when you look at those specs, it's a world of difference (even with equal processors). 8GB ram vs 4!! 7200 rpm vs 5400!!
Just looked up the Mac - definitely a crappier graphics card - NVIDIA with either 256 or 512MB vs ATI with 1GB on the Dell!!
And, though I guess it makes it a bigger computer, the Dell has a native screen res of 1600x900 and the Mac is 1440x900. The Dell spec is pretty cool if you are going to be watching movies on it - native 16:9 aspect ratio.
And a new Mac hidden expense (I really do respect Macs, but sometimes the little tricks really annoy me) - if you are planning on outputting from your computer to another display or projector, you'll need to buy an adapter. Seriously - it only has a "mini-display port" that nothing can connect to. Unfortunately, it looks like the Dell only has VGA, but for the average Joe, the lack of DVI shouldn't matter.
They both only have 2 USB ports - what's up with that?
Anyhow, I guess my point is that the Dell is definitely more bang for the buck and if that's important to you - it makes the most sense. I needed two laptops for work and with the specs I was looking at - I got two Dells for the price of one Mac. | I was wondering... am I in a clique? So, I'm not popular, I wear a Perry the platypus hat, I do wear some aeropostale shirts(have maybe 1-2), I own a plaid flip jacket, the other side is gray, I own bell bottom kind of pants, stretchy pants, I own vans, converse, rocket-dogs, and regular running shoes. I wear long socks that are black, stripped, or just random neon colors. I never wear necklaces, bracelets or rings. I don't have earrings. my hair is long and wavy, curly. I have only 15 people i can actually call my "true friends", i only hang out with 4 of them regularly not just school. I have almost straight A's(7 A's and 1 B(honors english)). My favorite genres of music are dubstep, alternative rock, rock, punk rock, electronica, classical music, British pop, and indie. I hate most pop music(some exceptions). I don't have a flip style of bangs. I would never wear jeggings, leggings, spandex with short shorts, dresses, skirts, or makeup.(my face doesn't need makeup.) I'm in band as a percussionist, I do graphic art on the computer, I'm a photographer, and a beginner at animation. And an amateur at video editing. My best friends are nothing alike, but all are friends. one of my friends seems to be a mix of emo, and goth, but doesn't like cutting herself, and doesn't wear black make up, and her hair isn't emo or goth. Two of my friends are Asian and like cute Asian things(they are girls). Another of my friends is a depressed person, who seems over-ally optimistic and scares me a lot. Another of my friends seems like she is a free person, dresses in all different styles every day, is somewhat smart, eats anything, but at home is only allowed to eat fresh organic non manufactured foods. My personality is that, I can be super independent, (for example I haven't had a boyfriend), I'd prefer the computer over going somewhere with someone. although, im not opposed to going somewhere with my friends. Alot of the time I make the excuse that i have homework so i can't go somewhere. I don't keep secrets from my parents or my sister unless I don't remember the secret.(that means i'm a very honest person) I don't tell people my secrets, or my friends. I have very few secrets. I like video games, but i don't play them all the time. I like all sorts of food: Italiano, Mexican, chinese, japanese, and german. My favorite movie is the green mile.

Best of luck! | GlacierWolf Question about Life, Alaska, Shooting, Hunting, Flying, and being the best human ever? I am a long time resident of Alaska that actually knows what I am talking about.
GlacierWolf my question for you is as follows. You have done more in your life then any one man can physically do or even imagine. I understand that you have served in all branches of the military. You have lived in every city in Alaska and then many more outside of Alaska. You are an amateur gunsmith that likes to brag about his accomplishments on Yahoo Answers. You even surprise me sometimes with new ones like how you are an audio and video engineer. If I am not mistaken you are an “Olympic class shooter” that never went to the Olympics making you not an “Olympic class shooter.” I wish it was possible to put 3 bullets in the same hole at 300 yards maybe an Olympian could do it. In your superhuman insight you reveal answers to questions that even puts the Alaska fish and game to shame. If I understand correctly Alaska has 26.1 million Caribou while fish and game puts the number closer to 900,000 I am just not sure who is correct. I know you are a world traveler but can you tell me where Alaska and Russia touch? The 5 times I have crossed the Canadian boarder 2 of which were with my dog that was not tattooed, and neither one of us had 200 dollars of cash on us. Come to think of it I also brought my 30-30 rifle with little to no trouble. The many times I traveled by air to and from Alaska I didn’t stop in Seattle. There is a flight everyday from Portland to Anchorage by AlaskaAir. During the summer there are flights from Denver, Chicago, LA, Hawaii, and many others that are direct to Anchorage. When you and your new wife open up your latest restaurant in Fairbanks maybe I will fly there on one of the many flights to enjoy. In closing I would like to get to my question. Do you enjoy telling lies or do you just don’t know the truth?
I hope this helps
“There are approximately 900,000 wild caribou in Alaska” – Alaska Department of Fish and Game
“There are 26.1 million caribou in alaska’s largest herd” – Glacierwolf
Somebody is lying. Who is it?
Good luck. I am a professional photographer - so - lenses are my 'thing'. If you have any questions, feel free to email me.
My wife and I have both worked in restaurants at one time in our lives. If you have any specific questions - feel free to email us.
People, like me, who build these things - always have a national match or service match rifle handy to compair our work to. I owned about 12 AR's and spent 18 years shooting military competition before I built my first one from scratch.
I live in Alaska.
The problem is quite obvious why we hate Canadians. 95% of Alaska has to pass through Canada to get to Juneau, the capital of Alaska. We are not allowed to bring any form of food - meat, fish, etc - through the border. This means if I go to Juneau to fish and I catch a couple of nice 80lb halibut - I cannot bring it home. It also means when people from Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan, Skagway etc etc come to the rest of Alaska they cannot hunt - because Canada will not allow them to bring the game meat home.
In Alaska we all carry guns for brown bear protection - heaven help you if you show up at the Canadian border with a firearm!! Even if it is Canadian legal. They will make you sit for hours before they decide to let you through the border - just to punish you for being Alaskan and owning a firearm. This means you can miss your ferry connection at Hanes.
Canadian's are feely allowed to enter Alaska. But, when an Alaskan goes to pass through Canada to drive to Seattle or the state capitol - we are required to have to have $200 cash in hand for each and every person in the car. Credit cards and check books do not count - they want to see $$ in American dollars. This means a family of 4 must have $800 cash in hand - and as you drive though Canada every crook and theif that recognizes you are Alaksan by your car's license plates knows they might be able to hold you up - and take your cash.
Oh, and if anyone in your car has had a DUI at any time in their life - the Canadian border guards make them turn around! Even if it was 40 years ago.
Not so much as the Canadian people we hate - we just hate the attitude of the Canadian border guards who hassel us.
You cannot fly direct to Alaska without first stopping in Seattle.
Your friend is not going to have a good time crossing the border - he will need to drive through Canada to get to Alaska. Canada law requires a health certificate for each animal - not a big deal when you arrive with one cat and one certificate........ but a real problem for a breeder who is traveling with allot of animals. Each animal will need to have a tatoo that identifies the animal and matches up with the health certificate.
Today it will put 4 rounds inside the exact same hole at 200 yards with the TLG Suppressor installed. The groups open up a tad with the suppressor off. | Glacierwolf says: I am a long time Olympic Class military competition shooter. I am a regular at my states yearly pistol championships.
First - 9mm is not allowed in competition. I got no clue what kinda competiton you are doing that uses a 9mm. Duh? For military, state, regional, and national shooting matches and competition the requirement is a 1911 45acp in ' as issued' condition. Although the rules will allow a Baretta 92F in "as issued" condition nobody in their right mind will use one - since even the US Army shooting team has not figured out a way to make a competition 92F model that can equal, let alone beat - the 1911.
Second - Glocks, Sigs, Springfield XD's - these are all service carry and duty carry pistols. None of them are suitable for competition.
Third - if you want a gun that is cheap to shoot and can be used in competition - you should be looking at a 22 long rifle pistol and probably a gun like the S&W Model 22a. This is a perfect enty level pistol for competiton and will not break the bank - it is quite affordable.
Nobody should begin pistol shooting with anything except a 22lr. For $400 you can get a nice model 22a and 2,000 rounds of 22 ammo. Enough to become a really good shot. You go buy a 9mm and start learning to shoot on it - two years from now you will still be a lousy shot and only have $400 in spent brass + a 9mm pistol to show for your troubles........ so - the choice - do you want to have a bag of spent cases come 2012 or would you like to have a nice 22 pistol, nice 9mm pistol, and be a good shot for the same money?
Hope this helps
He also says:
I am a former Olympic Class military long distance competiton shooter.
That does not make me a sniper. I have trained with sniper, fired matches against snipers and won - but - that still don't make me a sniper.
'Sinper' is the term for a highly trained military shooter skilled at infiltrating any terrain (jungle, rural, urban, city) and hitting a designated target.
In the hands of such a person - a BB gun becomes a sniper rifle.
Think of it this way. Just because you own a house with a full kitchen stove, blender, toaster, microwave oven, and tons of pots and pans - it does not make you a chef.
In the hands of a skilled chef - an egg on a camp fire is gonna taste out of this world!
Who is to say what is a sniper rifle and what is a non-sniper rifle? Or, the difference between an expensive match rifle and a sniper rifle? What most people call 'sniper' rifles is actually a match rifle - but - just because you own it, does not make it a sniper rifle unless you have the skills and training.
Hope this helps. | LGBT! I got filmed without me knowing about it. Help me? I'm a University freshmen and attended my second dorm party last week and my third last night. When I got there last night a few people stared at me and started laughing and whatever but I shrugged it off and then one of my closer friends asked me what I was doing there. I was confused and told me to go look up a website when I said I'd do it later he handed me his iPhone and told me to look now. It was a free 'adult' web site with different clips but I didn't know what he was talking about so he told me to click on the amateur submission section and sure enough there I was third row down.
I hooked up last week with a guy I had been talking to since my third day into semester but nothing came of it but a bj due to an interruption and the guy wasn't holding a camera or anything so I don't know how the hell someone got the two of us on camera and posted it there. It's seedy like it could be done with a phone but still. Either way I was so embarrassed I had to leave and when i got back to my dorm, I looked up the site and tried to get in contact with it's moderator but there was no one listed and instead just had a small 'help' section that had nothing to do with my issues.
This is my first semester in Uni and some people have already seen this video of me giving an upper class men head. I am just scared to death this will ruin the rest of my college years because some punk thought it would be funny to film and post it online. And not just that but what if my family and friends at home see this crap? What are they going to think of me doing that and it being posted on an adult site like that?
As if that wasn't all, now the guy I was talking to, the other one featured in the film, in acting like an @zz towards me like I planned this whole thing. He wasn't ready to come out yet if his lecture to me this week when I tried to talk to him was any clue. Now he fears for his scholarship too.
How can I find out who did this? How can i get it down with no named moderator? How do I convince Gray that I had nothing to do with it? We were just getting past a 'friends' level and now that's ruined. Can I press charges on whoever did this if I can find out who? This could seriously hurt me both now and in the future, I think. | You know what? Questions like this disgust me. To take a tragedy and try to find out how people feel about it by posting it as your own problem? Tantamount to plagiarism of life events.
If you wanted to know how people felt about the Tyler Clementi horror...freaking ask, be honest about your question, and ask straight up.
That is what Y!A is for. People with real questions, in need of real advice, looking for real answers. Not people trying to get hits on their question by claiming recent events as their own. |
